Synopsis

The Diamond family were a simple family from Idaho that had to make the transition into the hectic life of the Chicago suburbs.

With Garrett’s charm and personality he was able to ease into the new high school. He even meets Brooke, the hottest girl in town. Alyson didn’t have the self-confidence of her older brother. She came in lost and alone to a school many times larger than the one back in Idaho. Still, she was able to find a group that would accept her. They weren’t the sort of friends you’d bring home to impress your parents.

Garrett quickly learns that Brooke comes from a family very different from his own. Where he grew up knowing love, support and guidance, Brooke had indifference, alcoholism and abuse. The result was a young woman whose self-worth was wrapped up in her appearance.  Her older brother possessed the sins of his father.

Things only become more difficult as tension grows between Garrett and Brooke’s family. He is determined to stay with her and to help her realize life doesn’t have to be the way she’s known it to be.
