Synopsis
Perhaps Bobby wasn’t the best source for advice. Sure he was a friend and perhaps wise in the ways of intimacy. That is, if by intimacy one thinks of a man who elicits his fellow students to star in his independent porn films. Still he does offer a solution. Friends with privileges.
Well Aiden did have a friend who might fit the bill. In fact, Shannon wanted Aiden. She would have given him the sex and so much more. Shannon agrees if only to attain a higher level of intimacy. They enjoy great sex within the friendship. Unfortunately it seems so perfect that Aiden never considers Shannon as more than a friend he got to sleep with.
With a creative intensity never before experienced, Aiden is able to draft his first screenplay. All the while he and Shannon maintain an outward appearance in line with being just friends. Still, some can see through it. Shannon’s grandpa knows and makes it clear he wouldn’t stand by and watch his little angel get hurt. Pappy proves this tenacious protective mission when he attacks Aiden in the public bathroom at the screenwriting festival. Alas, not even a bitten nose could keep the two apart.
Another person drawn in is Molly. Aiden’s sudden disinterest in her only makes matters worse. It isn’t until he wins the festival does she leap (literally) back into his arms. Shannon stood beside Aiden only to be cast aside by the ex-girlfriend.
Aiden had everything he thought he wanted. He won completed his script, won the competition and was going to graduate. He’d even regained his beloved Molly. So why did he feel something was missing? Where was the happiness – a happiness he felt when he was with Shannon.
